Tilda is a good builder. It gets a site live quickly, the output looks considerably better than most drag-and-drop platforms manage, and you do not need a developer to change a heading.
What it does not do is tell Google what your site is about. That part is not automatic on any platform, and on Tilda it is easy to assume the builder has handled it because so much else is handled for you.
The short answer: yes, and the platform is rarely the reason a Tilda site is not ranking. Tilda gives you title tags, meta descriptions, heading control, alt text and custom code for schema. That covers most of what on-page SEO requires. What it does not do is decide what your site is about, and that is the part that actually determines whether you rank.
Below is what ranking a Tilda site actually involves, where the platform genuinely limits you, and when it is worth paying someone. If you want service and pricing detail instead, that is on the Tilda SEO service page.
What Tilda Handles, and Where It Stops
What it handles perfectly well
You can write your own title tag and meta description on every page. You can control heading structure. You can set image alt text. You can add custom code, including structured data. You can point a proper domain at it and serve over HTTPS.
That covers most of what on-page SEO actually requires. Anyone telling you Tilda cannot be optimised has not looked at it recently.
Where the ceiling is real
Page weight is the honest limitation. Tilda pages tend to carry more markup and script than a hand-built equivalent, and on a slow connection that costs you. You can mitigate it with disciplined image handling and by not stacking every available block on one page, but you cannot eliminate it.
You also have less control over server-level behaviour than you would on WordPress. Some redirect and header work is either awkward or unavailable.
Neither of those is usually what stops a Tilda site ranking. I am naming them so you can weigh them, not so you feel you need to leave.
Why Most Tilda Sites Do Not Rank
Almost always the same reason: nothing on the site states what it is about in terms a machine can use.
The page says the business name and describes a service in language a human understands immediately. There is no entity structure, no schema, no internal linking that groups related pages, and no clear signal about where the business operates. Google then infers all of it from thin evidence, and infers it wrong.
That is a content and structure problem rather than a platform problem, which is why moving to WordPress so often changes nothing. The same site with the same missing signals ranks the same on any platform.
What the Work Involves
Technical foundation
Indexation, crawlability, canonical correctness, sitemap accuracy and page performance within Tilda’s constraints. This comes first because nothing else matters if pages are not being read properly.
Semantic and entity work
Mapping what you do into the topics and entities Google associates with it, then structuring the site so those relationships are explicit. This is the part that produces durable gains rather than temporary ones.
Structured data, written by hand
Schema authored to match what the business genuinely is, added through Tilda’s custom code, rather than whatever a generic snippet generator produces.
Local signals
Google Business Profile, consistent naming across directories, and service area declared explicitly rather than left for Google to guess.
Structure for AI answers
Pages organised so that systems summarising your category have something specific and attributable to quote. In practice this overlaps almost entirely with writing clearly and being specific.
Authority
Links, selectively and from real sites. This comes last deliberately, because links amplify relevance and there is nothing to amplify until the rest is done.
Tilda Compared With the Other Builders
Honestly, without star ratings, because a star rating is somebody’s opinion dressed as a measurement.
Against Webflow: Webflow gives you more technical control and lighter output. If you have someone who will use that control, Webflow has the higher ceiling. Most sites never use it, which is why the practical difference is smaller than the specification difference.
Against Squarespace: broadly comparable. Squarespace hides slightly more from you, Tilda gives you more layout freedom. Neither is a reason to migrate.
Against WordPress: WordPress wins on control and loses on maintenance. If you want to never think about updates or plugin conflicts, Tilda is the calmer choice and the SEO difference is smaller than most people assume.
Against Wix: similar position now. Wix has improved considerably and its old reputation is out of date.
If you are still choosing, the fuller comparison is in best website builder for SEO.

Common Questions
Can a Tilda site actually rank on Google?
Yes. Google does not rank platforms, it ranks pages. A well-structured Tilda page beats a poorly structured WordPress page consistently.
Should I move to WordPress?
Usually not. In the large majority of cases I look at, the platform is not the constraint, and a migration introduces risk and cost for a problem it does not solve. If your situation is genuinely one of the exceptions, I will tell you on the call.
Can you add schema to a Tilda site?
Yes, through custom code blocks. It is written by hand to match the business rather than generated from a template.
Will you fix Tilda page speed?
As far as the platform allows. Image handling, block discipline and loading behaviour all help. I will not promise numbers the platform cannot reach.
How long does it take?
Early movement commonly within four to eight weeks, meaningful commercial gains usually month three to six. Competitive markets take longer, and anyone giving you a firm date is guessing.
Do you work outside the states listed?
Yes. The list above is where there is a page, not where the work is limited to.
